Sing Out Louise!
In the spirit of Marc Acito's movement to encourage people to break out in showtunes, while taking my evening constitutional with the dog, sang out loud with my MP3 player.
I cannot sing. I once had a music teacher in the fourth grade ask me not to sing, and when the Big One and the Little One were teeny, would say when I sang along to the radio, "Please Mommy, don't sing."
So I Danced Around the B52s Mess, Didn't Go Breaking Elton John's Heart (the Kiki Dee part, of course) and Just Couldn't Get Enough of Depeche Mode. Thankfully, the only other people I passed also had ear buds so they didn't have to endure any torture.
I did feel a little peppier during my walk, though.
Next week, I'll try some showtunes.
